Hi All,
Whilst trying to reconfigure my WRT54GL running OpenWRT I appear to have
accidently locked myself out! The change I made was to comment out the
vlan bridge connection on eth0. I now can't get connect to the router
via ethernet or wifi.
I've been trying to follow some instructions [0, 1] to access the
failsafe mode of OpenWRT but am running into some problems. The lights
flash as in the first link, but when I telnet try to telnet into the
router I get the following response:
[***@riker ~]$ telnet 192.168.1.1
Trying 192.168.1.1...
telnet: connect to address 192.168.1.1: No route to host
I think this has more to do with my laptop than anything else. The new
version of network manager in Fedora 15 is not letting me edit the
ethernet settings when connected to the router. I tried setting the IP
address manually, like so:
[***@riker ~]$ sudo ifconfig p33p1 192.168.1.2
[***@riker ~]$ ifconfig p33p1
p33p1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:22:15:4A:59:CA
inet addr:192.168.1.2 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::222:15ff:fe4a:59ca/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:4611 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:2873 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:4
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:5868948 (5.5 MiB) TX bytes:223078 (217.8 KiB)
Interrupt:45
Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?
Cheers,
Rob
