i'm working on a project which requires me to morph two pictures
together intelligently, so the resulting image looks like a mixture of
the two original people.

is there any open source software around that does this?

cheers

GIMP - Morphing Images (Using GAP)
http://youtu.be/qaSz8WNKjD4

i'm not sure if that's how i played with it long ago, but the trick is
selecting a lot of points between two images. the more points you select,
the better the morph.

i'm not sure if you're looking for a static image or a morphing animation.
if the former, just select an image (or layer, depending on how you do it)
from the middle.
