Ubuntu Unity Screen Saver

Thanks for all the replies regarding the freezing of the screen saver /
computer. The issue seems to revolve around the use of spinning 3D text. All
other screen savers are fine. Work around is don't use spinning text. Fix
was to use NVidia drivers rather than default Ubuntu.

Oh, interesting. I found the spinning text was causing my machine to
freeze, or get close (it seemed to be chewing ram, I think.) However,
while I'm running 11.04, the WM is xmonad, I don't have compositing, and
I do have the real nvidia drivers.

My solution was also to not have spinning text.
