Hi all,

I'm running Debian Unstable, with up-to-date packages.

Trying to get 3D acceleration working on this box, which has on-board
Intel 82865G video. From what I've googled, it appears this graphics
chipset is perfectly capable of 3D.

Here's my xorg.conf: http://pastebin.com/67DELS3K
And my Xorg.log.0: http://pastebin.com/XE2LkczH
And the output of glxinfo: http://pastebin.com/ZA3XkxRc

The X server starts up fine, for 2D work there's no issues. I just want
to find a way to get this box working with 3D acceleration so I can do
the odd bit of 3D gaming.

I haven't had much joy from googling, or asking on #debian or #xorg

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks if you can help.

Cheers
David

As it happens, I had moved my disks from a dead old box (with NVidia
card) to a slightly newer box. Some kind soul on #debian made me aware
of how the proprietary NVidia driver overwrites the debian glx package,
apparently without any backup. :O

Uninstalled the nvidia driver, restarted Xorg, now 3D works just
fine! :)
