Dear Linux gamers,

Can any of you recommend a comfortable and Linux-friendly game pad?
I'm finding a mouse & keyboard a little akward for some games, but
there seems to be much more variation amongst game pads than keyboards
(and mice).

:) That's almost an oxymoron....

I saw someone using the Wii controller (over standard Bluetooth) recently.

By "variation," I meant in shape and (button) layout, not in
compatibility.

The only modern(ish) game-pad I have used is a PlayStation2
controller, which was fairly comfortable. Maybe I'll get a PS3
controller since they can be used via USB and Bluetooth (whereas PS2
controllers can not, at least not natively). Anyone have any success
stories to share?

How exactly does, say, a PS3 controller show up to a Linux system,
anyway? Does X treat it as an input device, or is it less
straightforward?
