i started getting comments on my blog recently. most of them are spam,
which i'm ok with deleting for the moment.

can anyone recommend a good spam plug in for wordpress?

akismet is advertised quite heavily, but i'm not keen on having to sign
up for an API key - the whole tracking thing is something i want to get
away from if possible.

any suggestions?

+1 for Mollom, they have a Wordpress plug in and it seems to be the best
comment spam filter.

Hi. http://mollom.com is what we use on Drupal. Rocks.
so i gave mollom a go. there were two rather major issues with it in my
opinion:
it blocked some comments which weren't spam, and
there is no list of comments which have been blocked - apparently by
design. so, no way to make sure it's doing it right, and retrieve
erroneously blocked comments

i only found out they were blocked because people emailed me

any recommendations from users of other filters/services?

cheers,
